Studio Cancellations
30 days notice is required if student decides to discontinue lessons. Notice should be sent to MuBuS Inc via US Mail-970 W Dana, Mountain View CA, 94041, email-support@mubus.com, or phone-(650)961-7137.
Tuition Assumptions
You are retaining the instructor as a Private Music Coach on the student's selected instrument. The instructor devotes time and energy to the individual student’s advancement during and outside the Session. It is reasonable, then, to expect a consistent, predictable income. Please consider this in relation to the following policies.
Tuition rates are typically adjusted annually.
Withdrawal
Notice of withdrawal must be given within the calendar month prior to the student's final full calendar month. All tuition is due through removal date. This supercedes MuBuS's cancellation policy. The student cannot be guaranteed the same Session time upon return.
Cancellations, Holidays, Late Arrival
Please notify the instructor of cancellation at the earliest possible time. There are no make-up Sessions for scheduled major holidays/breaks or student cancellations. While the student may be on vacation, ill, or have another scheduling conflict, the instructor still must be at the studio and pay rent on that space for that reserved time.
The student is encouraged to practice and prepare for the next scheduled session the best that they can, and continue to advance at that point.
Tardy students receive only the remaining scheduled time. If the student has not arrived within 10 minutes of the Session's start time, the instructor will assume a no-show or the student has cancelled, with no credit or make-up. Instructor may leave premises on no-show/cancellation.
Instructor cancellations will be made up.
Changing Your Reserved Time Slot
The weekly Session is a time slot permanently reserved for the student. Since the instructor is retained to educate the student on an ongoing basis, moving the Session for irregular periods of time due to schedule conflicts is not available. The instructor has no short-term students to fill those times.
If you find you need to change to a new, permanent time slot, please give at least two weeks' notice for the change to take effect. The instructor cannot guarantee a new time slot for you within that period, nor can your old time slot be reserved for you to return.
Students With Other Family Members Enrolled
As a scheduling courtesy, students with other family members enrolled typically have their Sessions back-to-back. Each student is separately enrolled with his/her own reserved time slot. The instructor develops lesson plans based on a weekly half hour Session.
If one student is unable to attend, the other will only get their allotted half hour session. If the first of the two students has not arrived within 10 minutes of the first back-to-back Session's start time, and there is no notice that the second student will attend, the instructor will assume that both students will no-show or have cancelled, with no credit or make-up. Instructor may leave the premises on cancellation/no-show.
Other Information
Parents are welcome to observe the Session. No others may attend lessons, unless given instructor's approval. The instructor reserves the right to dismiss guests if their presence becomes distracting.
For the student to be successful, attending the Sessions must be followed by individual daily practice. A student could learn how to play their instrument at a basic level in a short time, but mastery takes a lifetime.
The instructor is not an employee of Music Go Round; as an independent contractor, the instructor’s views and policies do not necessarily reflect those of Music Go Round. (Rev 05/08)
